Welcome to Rome -- one of Italy’s most exciting cities!  Come with us as we pull back the curtain to show you the sights and secrets that make this city great!  You’ll have a chance to “walk” through Ancient Rome, see the history, and know why thousands visit there each year.  We’ll tell you a little about Modern Rome – and how Rome has influenced us in the U. S.   AND you’ll see special items from Rome itself!  That’s just the beginning! Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind exhibit!  Register for the Rome Exhibit's FREE DRAWING!  Entry forms in the west wing.  Some are prizes from Rome!

Italian Night at the Movies

Join us for a taste of gelato (Italian ice cream) and an award-winning Italian comedy BELLI DI PAPA’ (Daddy’s Boys) on Italian Film Night.  It’s the story of Vincenzo, a successful Italian businessman, who has three children in their twenties who keep him up at night with worry.  They live an easy life with no responsibilities.  To bring them back to reality, he concocts a scheme to help them do what they’ve never done before – WORK!  But will it last?   A Colorado Film Production (Italy).  Free admission.  In Italian with English subtitles.  Not recommended for children. Gelato compliments of Spirito’s, The Italian Store on Main Street.

Mario Mania at Collinsville Library

"It's-a me, Mario!" Everybody's favorite Italian plumber takes over the Collinsville Library during the Italian Fest on Sat., Sept. 16, for tournaments, speed runs, and more! Stop by the library anytime between 9 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for open play sessions of the New Super Mario Bros. on Wii, a Mario Run tournament on iPad, and enter your best time in a speed run of the original Super Mario Bros. Winners will receive special prizes. There will also be small snacks and other fun Mario activities for all ages. Just drop in on your way to or from the Italian Fest to take part in the Mario Mania!
